Having obtained qualifications in both Quality Management and Physics, Orla spent a number of years working in various Quality Control and Process Engineering roles within the large multinationals, Seagate, IBM and Guidant.
Having decided to embark on a change of career in 2004, Orla qualified as a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of CPA Ireland. She gained 10 years accounts prep, audit and taxation experience in busy accountancy practices before joining Unitec in 2015 as Financial Controller. With a keen interest in lifelong learning, she is currently pursuing a Professional Diploma in Forensic Accounting.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, running, yoga and in the last year has stared playing camogie as part of her local clubs’ “Mamogie” initiative.
