Miguel Marques, Sales Director
A Johannesburg native, Miguel is one of Unitec’s co-founders. Currently a Company Director, Miguel was involved in the auto-ID and data collection industry prior to the establishment of Unitec back in 2009. In that capacity, he built business solutions leveraging barcoding and automation technologies. In his present role, Miguel oversees our sales and manages key accounts in Ireland, alongside managing the development of the Sub-Saharan African market.
When asked what he loves about his job and what Unitec does for our customers, Miguel didn’t have to think for long:
“The best part of the job is delivering value… something which is relative to each client and their business.”
An avid rugby fan, you might guess that Miguel is a staunch supporter of the South African team (according to him, the “best team in the world”), but he has made room in his heart for the Irish team. As you can imagine, things get quite interesting around the offices anytime the two meet on the field!
Currently holding several industry-specific certifications (ITIL Foundation, GS1 & Sato RFID Certified), a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration and in the process of completing Master of Business Administration (Completion April 2020), we’re not sure where Miguel actually does find the time for anything else, but when he’s not studying or making things great for our customers, Miguel enjoys being in the great outdoors. We forgot to ask him how the weather here in Ireland has impacted on that (but we can probably guess).
